Volkswagen Maintenance Schedule

If you recently became the proud new owner of a Volkswagen, we’d like to personally congratulate you! You’re in for a truly unique driving experience. Of course, you’ll want to familiarize yourself with your Volkswagen maintenance schedule to ensure your vehicle continues operating at its best on the road. The team at Kempthorn Motors has put together a general VW maintenance schedule below, but we recommend that you consult your owner’s manual for the recommended services for your specific model. VW Maintenance Schedule: Initial 10K Miles

Once your Volkswagen has hit 10,000 miles, you should bring it into your local service center to have its key components inspected. We recommend the following services at the 10,000-mile mark: 

• Tire rotation 
• AdBlue fluid check 
• Wiper blade inspection 
• Oil and oil filter replacement 
• Airbag system inspection 
• Headlight cleaning system inspection 

VW Maintenance Schedule: 20K, 60K, & 100K Miles 

At 20,000, 60,000, and 100,000 miles, the following services will be performed in addition to the 10,000-mile services to ensure you stay safe during your travels: 

• Battery inspection 
• Tire inspection 
• Brake system inspection 
• Fuel filter replacement 
• Dust and pollen filter replacement 
• Tire filler bottle expiration date check 

VW Maintenance Schedule: 30K, 50K, 70K, 90K, & 110K Miles

At each of these milestones, it’s a good idea to have preventative maintenance done on your vehicle. We also recommend a brake disc inspection and a brake and clutch unit fluid change in addition to the 10,000-mile services.

VW Maintenance Schedule: 40K, 80K, & 120K Miles

Once again, the 10,000-mile services should be done at each of these intervals, with the addition of the following:

Inspections: 

• Coolant 
• Engine 
• Exhaust 
• Tires
• Battery 
• Brakes 
• CV joints 
• Electrical components 
• Underbody sealant 

Other services: 

• Fuel filter replacement 
• Dust and pollen filter replacement 
• Tire filler bottle expiration date check
• DSG transmission fluid and filter change 
• Tire filler bottle replacement in the mobility kit
